About the Artist.
My name is Emily, I discovered my passion for welding several years ago. From then on it clicked; this is what I am supposed to do. I only work with recycled or re-purposed materials. I spend summers on the hunt for materials at estate sales, thrift stores, or from "picking" local farms. When I'm not welding I indulge some of my other passions including, hiking, cooking, yoga, painting, kayaking and going on adventures with my husband K.C. and our husky. Art is my biggest form of self expression. Sometimes I feel like a jack of all trades, if it is creative or artistic, I'll try it! From welding, to painting, to sewing, to sculpting, to wood work, to working on a visual journal I love it all! No matter the task, I must endeavor to create. My purpose is to bring my unique style and perspective to each piece I make. I found my niche with welding and feel that recycled metals and wooden materials are the media that best expresses who I am and what I see when I look at the world.
My Work.
Although the name is Mulhall Welding, I am not limited to metal in my creative endeavors. I also make wooden furniture, lamps, and even jewelry. Each piece I make is truly one of a kind. My art also carries with it a story and a history unique to the past lives of all the materials used. I have many designs that can be replicated as closely as possible. And I will also take commissions if you have a specific request. Please feel free to send an email with any questions or to make an order. Inspiration.
I gather inspiration from nature, spirituality and a passion for the environment. I only use recycled or re-purposed materials to create my art, this allows me to take rusting, discarded objects from the soil and create something you want to hang on you wall or place in your garden. I'm known for a creative eye, whimsical designs and bright colors. I am a free spirit and have an eye for the aesthetics. I've always been resourceful and a do-it-yourself-er I believe my passion for life, for the earth and for the creative process reflects in my art, giving it a unique edge and appeal.
Approach.
I approach my work with a unique perspective. I see the potential in an ordinary object to be something new and different. This creates a variety of innovative designs and creative pieces.
